    Xelene is pronounce "seleenee", like the moon goddess Selene. The story goes that Selene saw the prince Endymion one day while he was napping in a cool grotto and, captivated by his beauty, she stole a kiss. Endymion asked Zeus to give him immortality and eternal life; Zeus agreed on the condition that he remain eternally asleep. So every evening, after bathing her lovely body in the ocean, Selene dresses herself in splendid robes and rises into the sky on a chariot drawn by shining steeds to watch over her sleeping lover.

Greetings Xelene, thank you for the wonderful ping. Oh I certainly did like your photo essay about the ditch. Beauty is everywhere. I will try to go back and comment on each picture as I don't think I did that. Gather is so frustratingly slow and I have lost comments and just go grrrrrrrrrrrrr, The pictures take a long time to load and then when you loose a comment it can be so frustrating. Hi Xelene, A Fello gather-er told me this happens all the time!!!! Last week 7 friends disappeared off my page!!! I glad you caught this so we could re-connect.I'm about 1/2 way thru the alphabet,I've started keeping a written notebook of who is on my friends page,This way i can check once a week to see if anyone went POOF!! Perfect Xelene, the school of life has so many wonderful classes and courses and is always so exciting. I'm not sure if one gets a degree at the end, but I do know the journey is very interesting. :) I too have a passion for office supplies. I can't resist when I'm near a school or office supply department. I too have boxes of crayons and coloring books galore. Coloring is a great, Zen activity. I have so many supplies and I love pencils so much. When they are just nubs I can't imagine throwing them away so I put them in a jar. So I salute you fellow supply hoarder. LOL Love and Light, JJ

Greetings to you Xelene. I too am not very savvy with techno stuff. I just remain dazed and confused most of the time. I didn't like facebook, yet like I said, over time Gather looks more and more like it is moving in that direction. This used to be a great writers and artists site, but now with the "upgrades" has changed so much since I first came. I've made some wonderful friends here though and I cherish that. How wonderful that you are going to school. What will you be studying?
